60x60 Dance @ the Winter Garden, NYC (11/14/08) [Smith/Rosenthal]

Pearly Whites
Music: Patrick Smith
Dance: Eryn Rosenthal

notes:
Pearly Whites is my sixty-second musical work written in the style of 1960's game show music. It is hopelessly cheesy and I take delight in its unabashed "long-in-the-tooth"-ness. Patrick Smith is a composer, producer, keyboardist and author. He has composed music for media for over 20 years. Among his credits are documentaries for Discovery Channel, Dramatic Television for Fox, Theatrical installation shows for Bermuda, Saudi Arabia, the State of Kentucky, the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian Institution, and many others. He is also an author of two books, the second of which was recently released. Eryn Rosenthal has presented her own choreography at La Cuarta Pared and La Casa Encendida as well as at the ITACA Festival and the Trisha Brown Dance Studio. Eryn graduated with honors from Yale University, and has won a Fulbright fellowship to Spain, a Richter fellowship for work with playwright Anna Deavere Smith, a Rice fellowship and an Open Society Institute President's Grant to South Africa, and the Yale Dramat's Best New Playwright Award. She is an active member of Contact Improvisation circles in New York and Massachusetts. Dancer: Eryn Rosenthal.
